About denaturalization

In a stark airport holding cell under harsh fluorescent light, a routine security screening unravels into something far more unsettling.

Denaturalization explores the quiet horror of suspicion cast on a seemingly ordinary man — a PhD student, a teacher, an American. As hours stretch into an uncertain limbo, lines blur between captor and captive, procedure and persecution, law and humanity. What begins as resistance gives way to uneasy rapport, and, in the stillness between questions, an unexpected bond forms. But the system has no room for connection. Tense, intimate, and timely, Denaturalization is a haunting interrogation of identity, loyalty, and the price of belonging.
